Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Program
The Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Program – “Ghar Ho Tu Apna” is a housing finance initiative launched by the Government of Pakistan to help middle-income families buy or build their own homes through subsidized bank loans.
- KEY FEATURES:
House loan up to PKR 1 crore (10 million) | 5% fixed markup for the first 10 years | Repayment period of up to 20 years | Only 10% down payment/equity required
- AVAILABLE FOR:
Buying an apartment | Buying a house | Constructing a house on owned land
- PROPERTY SIZE LIMIT:
Up to 1500 sq. ft. apartment | Or 10 marla house
- WHO CAN APPLY?
Generally, applicants must:
Be a Pakistani citizen with valid CNIC | Be a first-time home buyer | Have proof of income/business
Meet bank financing criteria | Not already own a residential property in many cases
- EXAMPLE INSTALLMENTS:
Approximate monthly installments under the subsidized period:

| PKR 75 lakh | PKR 49,500 |
| PKR 1 crore | PKR 66,000 |
These figures apply during the first 10 years at the subsidized rate.
- IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW:
- After 10 years, the rate may shift to KIBOR + 3%, so installments can increase depending on market conditions.
- Banks still evaluate:
Salary/income stability | Credit history | Tax records | Existing liabilities
Freelancers and self-employed people may need stronger documentation like bank statements and tax returns. Community discussions suggest the process can sometimes be lengthy
